Several projects to increase the generation capacity has been implemented, and some completed, but the transmission and distribution capacities have not grown pari passu. The electricity generation capacity, in 2014, has increased in steps from its values in 2007; although, more still needs to be done for Nigeria to generate power to satisfy its needs especially in the area of diversifying Nigeria energy mix from hydro and gas to include wind, solar, and coal.
