This study titled Analysis of Private Costs of Education on in Police Secondary Schools in Nigeria is absolutely essential for families sin plan their year budget in order to make proper planning of resources for education, it is al: important for the Nigeria police to know how much burden her personnel a bearing for education at police secondary school s _ "T'In e following nr hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 level 0 f significance; there is r significant difference in the cost of education at police secondary schools l parents status, there is no significant variation in the unit private cost ~ education in police secondary schools according to pro grarT1me of study ar there is no significant difference in the unit private cost of education in Polk secondary schools by students class. Blog's theory of Burnan capital which emphasized that education is almost and always both investment ar consumption formed the theoretical framework. The study adopted the ex-pos facto research design because the parents have already incurred the dependent variables such as academic and incidental costs the researcher, therefore, observed the independent variable which is the private costs to calculate The entire population of 2500 students was used and stratified along with the class of program (SSl, SS2, and SS3). The period 2012/2013 was chosen because: it was the last session proceeding the duration of co II e cti on of data and so tl private cost was the most current. A modified checlc= l i ss t called private cost ~ education in police secondary schools in Nigeria was designed as t1 instrument to generate data for the study. Simple percentage" average and rar order were the statistical tools adopted to answer the research questions whi the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) statistical too 1 was used to test tl hypotheses. The study prima facea revealed that Ranl< and file (IRF) paren spent about ¥.*128, 130,900.00, senior police officers (SPO) spent ¥.*15 970,000.00 and civilians and other parents spent ~ 1 17" 221,000.00 on tl education of their children at police secondary schoo I s per annum. In all tl levels of study school fees or tuition as an item of cos t was ranked highest c the academic cost items, while feeding fee top the list on incidental cost item Also revealed was that among the three classes of SS I" S S? and SS3 incident costs were higher than academic costs. It was also found that the civilis parents expended more on education than the po I ice parents. The cost ( educating the female child was found to be higher than the male counterpar The science and prevocational students spent more than the Arts and soci: science students. The study recommends the need tor Government especiall the Nigeria police force to intervene in the educat i on 0 f police children t introducing scholarship scheme and study grarl ts to the science an prevocational students to make secondary educati ri affo rdable for all tl children. The study also recommended urgent intervention to cushion tl effects of cost on the education of the Rank and file (IRF) children if they als have to be educated at police secondary schools in Nigeria.
