Artificial Intelligence Bionic Technology

Abstract

With the ongoing advancement of technology and innovation, bionic technology is also rapidly evolving and becoming more lifelike in their form and function and indeed, changing lives across the world by removing the physical barriers to empower the disabled people. Presently, in most of the developing countries, many amputees are facing challenges to access bionic technologies due to its availability being extremely limited, yet the demand for bionic devices is constantly increasing as studied from the data collected from research study. This research paper addresses the massive need of an in-depth knowledge of prosthetics with union of bionic technology based on AI, which can bring a remarkable clinical breakthrough in next-generation Bionic technology.

Accordingly, the main objective of this research project was to study the mechanism of AI based self-learning bionic hands and how it will empower the amputees to regain function and improve their quality of life. The targeted participants for this research project were amputees and the relevant organizations working with prosthesis.

The expected hypothesis was that the respondents would be aware about the significant difference in using AI in the bionic devices, which was found out to be true. The study from the data

and information collected from the respondents also pointed out the availability and challenges in producing and delivering the modern AI-bionic hand. From the research study, it was found out that the relevant organizations working with prosthetics devices and services has been trying to provide low cost and durable prostheses to amputees and a specific questionnaire was used for gaining better understanding of use, distribution and cost of prosthetic limbs.

Finally, literature were also systematically reviewed to gather in-depth understanding of how combining AI with prosthetics can lead to vast improvements in bionic limb functionality.

The end goal of this research paper was to thoroughly understand the availability and challenges in delivering AI based bionic limbs to amputees through a rigorous analysis of current organization’ s approaches and the existing technology.  These findings showed significant difference in the level of ease and flexibility with the use of AI and supported the expected hypothesis. Overall, it was found out that these findings from my research work is consistent with previous research and they do spark a debate that this is great sign of changes and adaption of AI technology in bionic devices. However, ongoing research and different approaches leaves the door wide open for further debate and exploration.
