Automated Energy Meter Reading by Using Radio Frequency Technology

Radio Frequency based wireless remote control system can be used to control the output load from remote place. In this thesis a circuit of RF module ( Tx/Rx) for wireless remote control has been used for automatic collecting data from energy meter which called Automatic meter reading (AMR) instead of using traditional meter reading system for billing. In thesis AMR has been implemented to send and receive data between energy meter and electrical distribution company system. Simulation module has been done with the use of software simulating programs; along with Bascom-AVR language Compilers for the code has been written to the MCU. The simulating program used for this thesis was Proteus Professional. This thesis successfully designed and implemented an efficient way to collect billings for electricity consumptions, and further facilitate the recharge process of meters currently being used.
