Community Participation and Sustainability of Project in Selected Non-Government Organization NGOs in Galmudug State-Somalia

ABSTRACT

 The purpose of the study is to describe the community participation which sustainability of project ought to possess and practice and correlate them with success of sustainability of project in Galmudug state-Somali, with a view of suggesting practical recommendations to enhance sustainability of project. In addition, the study intends to identify the strength and weaknesses of project managers in terms of community participation and sustainability of project. It will also test the null hypotheses of no significant relationship between community participation and sustainability of project. The study adopted a descriptive co-relational, exposit facto and a cross-sectional survey research design. The descriptive co-relational design was used to establish the relationship between community participation and sustainability of project in Galmudug state-Somali the exposit facto design was used because respondents were requested to things that have already happened. The cross-sectional design was employed because; a cross-section of construction managers was selected to participate in the study all at once. It was a survey since many respondents were included in the answering of questionnaires. This study was set to find out the relationship between community participation and sustainability of project in Galmudug state-Somalia. It was guided by four specific objectives that included the i) profile of respondents in terms of age gender, marital stuts, and education, qualification; ii) determining the level of community of participation; iii) the level of sustainability of project iv) the relationship between community of participation and sustainability of project in Galmudug state in Somalia. Finally This study contributed towards knowledge generation by revealing that having direct impacts on the sustainability of project, in terms of cost and schedule performance, will require a community participator to be equipped with enough knowledge on how to do it in pre sustainability of project.
