ABSTRACT
This report presents the design and implementation of contactless height
measuring instrument. This project is based on developing and creating a
device that utilizes ultrasonic sensors to determine height of an object ranging
up to 200cm or 2m. The device is intended to be used as an alternative to
the other more bulky and expensive models found either at home or at
health centers. The ultrasonic height measurement device makes use of ultrasonic
sound transducers to generate ultrasounds which is echoed back when it comes in
contact with the target object. This thus eliminates the need for physical contact
between the target object and the measuring device. The design includes
ultrasonic sensor, composite framework, a PIC microcontroller, wiring,
programmed with Micro C Pro IDE and Proteus virtual workbench is used in this
design.
