Development And Implementation Of Computerized Pension Information System

ABSTRACT

The introduction of Computer into Pension Management System has greatly improved the retrieval of files in Pension department. This is made possible due to the enormous capabilities of computers. In order to help these capabilities of information, every system or organization that is non-computerized is now being computerized. Pension is a periodic payment made to public servants who have completed their service usually between 10 to 35 years. The manual process refers to the writing of information covering each pensioner and storing these information on a book cabinet. The new system involves the use of computer to record and store the pensioner’s information. The Data Flow Diagram is used in modeling the system. The computerized pension information system is designed as top-down system and specifications were also presented in a way that it enhances the understanding of the system’s programmes and control flow charts. The implementation phase constitutes the development of software which transforms the system design to program codes. Some of the software requirements include the P.C., hard disk drive, keyboard, printer, UPS and some of the software requirements include Microsoft windows operating system, Visual Basic 6.0. However, the computer records the input data such as pensioner’s name, address, and process them accordingly to the programmed instruction. The application of this study will make the pension system more efficiently and accessible to both the managers and the pensioners.
