ABSTRACT
This research work deals on efficient contract management and its effect on project delivery. The need for the research arose due to rampant project delays and abandonment in the country and their adverse effect on the national economy. Both primary and secondary data sources were used to obtain the data for the research work. A structured questionnaire based on the 4-point lickert scale was used to collect data from the respondents. The results of the analyses indicate that there is a significant relationship between contract management and project execution. Also, good preparation through an accurate assessment of needs will help to create a clear-cut based specification. The study, therefore recommends an active involvement of local contractors and host communities in project implementation through training, sensitization on modern approaches and as well by active supervision/ monitoring for efficient project executions.
