EFFECT OF EMPLOYEE EMPOWERMENT ON ORGANIZATION AL PERFORMANCE (A STUDY OF FIRST BANK OF NIGERIA PLC, IN ENUGU URBAN)

ABSTRACT
The effect of employee empowerment in the first bank of Nigeria is the aim of study. Empowerment plays an important role in the effectiveness and efficiency of an organization. The organizations such as first bank of Nigeria are not without problems.  Such problems range from poor productivity of employees, poor attitude towards work and lack of necessary skill for carrying out the job. The study was used to control and proffer the solution to various problems. In gathering the facts, ninety nine (99) questionnaire were distributed to the managers and operative of the first bank of Nigeria plc in Enugu urban and eight (80) were completed and returned.  Selected sample size which are 99 out of the population of 130 comprising the staff of first Bank of Nigeria plc in Enugu urban was determined using Taro Yamene formula.  Hypotheses formulated were tested using chi-square, the result led to major finding which include that adequate employee empowerment enhance efficiency of First Bank of Nigeria, Plc Based on the findings, the following recommendations were made: bank should ensure that employee empowerment programme are well structured and planed, equal opportunity for employee empowerment should be given to every member or staff at all level.
