Electronic Evaluation System For Monitoring Employeee’s Job Perfomance: A Case Of Info-Com Limited Uganda

ABSTRACT

According to Hackman, Oldham (1976), Evaluation and performance appraisal is the major

function of human resource department. A performance appraisal, employee appraisal and

performance review are methods by which job performance of an employee is evaluated

(generally in terms of quality, quantity, cost and time) typically by corresponding manager or

supervisor. This is done through analyzing employees’ recent success and failures, personal

strength and weaknesses and suitability for promotion or further training.

Info-com has been using manual method which is evidently realized by piled performance

reports in the Human Resource department. To track employees’ and performance records was

hard and little critical analysis could be carried out, because no progressive reports could be

easily made, stored records could be easily stolen, lost, misplaced or intentionally vandalized due

to absence of proper security mechanism.

The objective of this project was to investigate if there was a relationship between monitoring

and evaluation at Info-Corn, develop a system that will monitor and evaluate employees’ job

performance and finally implement the developed system.

It is recommended that adoption and usage of the developed electronic evaluation system for

monitoring and evaluation of employees’ job performance could reduce the time and money

spent conducting and recording employee performance appraisals - up to 85%, easily track and

manage the entire appraisal workflow from your HR control center and improve on knowledge of manual record keeping of the employees records.
