Abstract A study on the flow characteristics in the cross-flow turbine model T15 300 has been conducted. The study was designed to examine the fluid flow trajectory in the turbine and identify areas for further improvement. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) approach was employed and the results were compared with experimental data. The simulation study was conducted at guide vane angle of 20o, 30o, 35o and 41o. The shaft diameter was set at 30 mm, 45 mm, 60 mm, and 75 mm for each head while ...
Abstract: The microstructure of the base alloy and thermomechanical affected zone (TMAZ) of inertia friction welded powder metallurgy (PM) RR1000 were examined by the use of stan'dard metallograpllic tecl~niques involving optical. analytical scanning and msrnission elmtron inicmsmpes equipped with enew dispersive spectrometer nnd an electron probe micro analyscr. It was discovered that liquation of grain boundary phases present in the pre-weld alloy resulted in the formation of eutectic type ...
Abstract Optimization of production downtime in plastic manufacturing serves as a method to minimize machine downtime. This paper describes how to minimize machine downtime using multiple regression analysis in Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and graphs was also used to predict the effective of downtime to cycle time, weight, production capacity, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and graphs were plotted accordingly. The Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of the company w...
ABSTRACT Maintenance is important to the success and continuity of firms, particularly in the changing society as ours. The effectiveness and the survival of organizations are largely enhanced by the ability of management to ensure that there is functional equipment, lands and buildings, infrastructure and fixtures. In the manufacturing setup, there is wear and tear of machines and equipment in the periods of usage that require sufficient maintenance to enhance their useful life. This ensure...
ABSTRACT This research investigated the performance of rural and urban petty traders in AfigyaKwabre District. A total of two hundred (200) questionnaires were administered in the study area but one hundred and ninety-three (193) responses were received. Descriptive statistics was employed to describe the demographic characteristics, social capital of petty traders and their customers, the roles they play and challenges associated with petty trading. The findings revealed that demographic c...
