Callosobruchus maculatus (Fabricius), also known as cowpea beetle, cowpea weevil or bruchid, is the most important pest of cowpea. Severe C. maculatus infestations can affect 100% of the stored peas and cause up to 60% loss within a few months. Recent reports indicate that extracts of locally available plants can be effective as crop protectants against pre-harvest and post-harvest pests.

This Seminar presentation discussed about the 'toxicity of Tithonia diversifolia leaf extracts on Callosobruchus maculatus infesting cowpea seed, Vigna unguiculata in the store'.
