Introduction
The concept of globalisation has been widely used since 1970, but history shows that countries have been trading internationally for thousands of years (Vanham, 2019). The process of globalisation has evolved over time, from international trades taking place via long routes using animals, to shipments carried out by planes and
ships. This report seeks to explain the use of the term ‘globalisation’ as it relates to businesses in the 21st Century. It is important to note that communication platforms and widespread access to digital technology have profoundly changed the way businesses operate.
