Cassava is notoriously known to be a major source of carbohydrate. Known by its scientific name as manihot esculenta, this woody shrub has edible roots that can be eaten when properly processed. Historically speaking, Cassava has been said to have originated from North America and was first introduced into Africa in the Congo basin. It is mostly grown around tropical areas and widely eaten in developing countries.
