ABSTRACT: This study conducted a survey to find a correlation between the students’ performance and interest in practical training and laboratory conditions in Nigeria Polytechnics subsector. Structure Questionnaire was used to gathered data among undergraduate students and Technologists of Computer sciences, Computer and Electrical engineering in the Southwest Polytechnics. was used to gather the information. A total of 1000 questionnaires were distributed to sample the opinion of the students and Technologists responsible for practical instruction to the students. Majority of the sampled population were of the opinion that the deplorable conditions of laboratories were a big factor in achieving the practical aim and objectives in the Nigeria Polytechnic subsector. Consequences upon our finding, it is highly recommended that stakeholders in the polytechnic subsector make a proactive response to avert the deplorable condition of practical laboratories in the polytechnics system. This will go a long way to make polytechnic system achieve it mandate and solved problems of unemployment’s in Nigeria.
