Impact Of Corporate Social Responsibility In Tanzania: A Case Of Green Resource Limited In Mufindi And Kilombero Districts

ABSTRACT

This study intended to examine the CSR provided by the Green Resources Limited, taking Kilombero and Mufindi as case studies. The specific objectives of this study were to examine the policy areas, effects of the CSR and drivers of CSR. The study employed a cross sectional design to collect data only once. The sample size of the study was 50 respondents who were randomly selected. The data were collected by interview method with the use of questionnaires and interview. Data analysis was carried out in the SPSS. The study found out that CSR dealt with provision of social support on education, health and agriculture. In addition, the CSR has been driven by government policies, regulation needs, community needs and market demand and supply. The study also revealed that CSR is not only important to the company in terms of building networks , but also for the community in terms of ensuring that it helps to bridge the gap of development that has been left by the government . These include financial support on areas of education, agriculture and health promotion. The study concludes that CSR is very important for the transformation of the community. It is, therefore, recommended that the government should strengthen the registration requirements to ensure that any organization should plan part of its budget as part of the of the community around.
