Integrating The Physically Disabled Children Into Regular Schools Of Londiani Division, Kipkelion District, Kenya

ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to find out the socio-economic status of the physically

Disabled and vulnerable children in accommodation, Integration, performance in some

selected schools in Londiani Division of Kipkelion District

An effort was done to find the related literature to the study area guide by both the

objectives and research questions such as

i) What are some of the problems that affect the integration of learners with

physical disability into a regular school?

ii) What are some of the environmental factors that affect (P.H) physically

handicapped both at home and school as learning is concern?

iii) What measures has the government done by sending qualified personnel to those

regular schools to handle the physically handicapped learners?

As per the findings it generally showed that there are some factors which affects the

physically disabled and vulnerable children in their endeavour to perform at per with

their peers. To assist in alleviating the problems, the respondents cited areas of difficulty

which need to be looked into. These include, learning materials and equipment, mobility

Aids, condusive environment and qualified trained personnel in the area of special needs

education areas of social and psychological support.

The research therefore requires good collaboration and proper networking by, School (SMC) School management committee, (CDF) Constituency Development Funds committee, provincial Administration and sponsors e.g. Church. (NGOs) Non governmental organization and the entire community.
