ABSTRACT
The study was about inventory control procedures and employee performance; this was guided by three objectives which carries the following questions: 1. How does inventory control procedure affect profit in selected health care institutions in Mogadishu - Somalia? (2) How does inventory control procedure affect sales in selected health care institutions in Mogadishu - Somalia?(3) How does inventory control procedure affect market share in selected health care institutions Mogadishu - Somalia? This was a cross sectional study conducted in the month of December 2012 at Mogadishu — Somali, the target population was one hundred twenty two of three selected health institution in Mogadishu — Somali. This study sample size of 93 was selected using the sloven formula which state that representative population sample can be drawn out of target population using the formula n = N/1+N(e) square , and Amin, 2005. The frequency and percentage distribution were used to determine the demographic characteristic of respondent. The mean and standard deviation was used to compute for the level of inventory control system and organizational performance. The findings of the study indicated the majority of employees in the sample were females represented by 73% while males were minority represented by 26.9%. the majority of employees represented by 41.9% were of age bracket 31-40, minority represented by 8.6% were of the age bracket 50 years and above. The findings of the study revealed that the majority of the employees in the sample were Nurses represented by 73%, while minority of the employees in the sample were of top 5.4 % were Hospital management. The majority of the employees in the sample were 43% of the respondents hold a bachelor, minority represented by 2.2% where of the PHD holder, majority of employees represented by 44.l% of the respondents have worked for 6-10 years. Where the minority of the respondents represented by 3.2%where as 15 and above experience Data analysis using SPSS’s descriptive statistics for means and standard deviations, showed approximately (I) inventory control procedure that showed score of (mean z 3); std dev (1.616) (ii) employee performance showed score of (mean z3);std dev (1.233) in private selected Health care institutions in Mogadishu - Somalia respectively, which had an interpretation as good. The study concluded that All private health care institutions in Mogadishu — Somalia should have good market share policies in place where all employee need to be trained in good of caring of the market share practice right from receptionist to managing director
