ABSTRACT

The study involved the relationship between job satisfaction and employee performance in Elgon

Millers Mbale district. The purpose of the study was therefore to identify how job satisfaction is related to employee performance in Elgon Millers Mbale district so as to increase on the organization’s productivity.

The researcher used the population which included both unskilled employees, semi~skilled and skilled employees of Elgon Millers Mbale district and the data was collected using questionnaires and interview guides. From the findings it shows that job satisfaction is mainly caused by low payments more so on the university type of employees and something that automatically reduces on employee’s performance.

From the recommendations by the researcher, the Organization should strive much possible to adopt motivation as a strategy to overcome job dissatisfaction and improve on employee’s performance in Elgon Millers Mbale district. The areas for further research is to find out the major cause of job dissatisfaction and the best job

design to be applied by the Organization to enhance to job dissatisfaction and employee performance.
