The type of data used was mainly primary data collected from the area of study though

secondary data from Makindye sub- county headquarters and respective sub- county

fmancial administration was also used.

This report is divided into five chapters as below:

Chapter one presents the general introduction with high lightened on the historical

background of the study, need for improving accountability in the local government,

statement of the problem, objectives of the study.

Chapter two covers the literature review, which comprises of among others the review of

the provisions in the various statutory instrmnents for effective accountability.

The report has been written as a partial fulfillment of the requirement for the award of the

degree of Bachelor of Business Administration in Kampala international university.
