ABSTRACT This study explored the effect of micro-finance services on performance of micro enterprises. The study specifically looked at the effect of micro-credit, micro-finance institutions savings mobilisation and business development services on the performance of Micro enterprises (MEs). A cross-sectional study design for quantitative and qualitative analysis was used on 243 respondents that provided data. Data were collected by use of a self-administered questionnaire, and interview guide. Quantitative data were analysed at univariate level basing on the mean and frequencies, bivariate level using correlation coefficient and multivariate using multiple linear regression with the help of Statistical Package for Social Sciences 17.0 (SPSS). Qualitative data were analysed by content analysis by composing explanations and substantiating them using the respondents open responses. The study micro-credit affected the performance of Micro enterprises (MEs); micro-finance institutions savings mobilisation affected performance of Micro enterprises (MEs); and micro-finance institution business development services affected the performance of Micro enterprises (MEs). It was concluded that micro-credit had a significant positive relationship with performance MEs: micro institutions savings mobilisation had a significant positive relationship with performance MEs and micro-finance institution services had a significant positive relationship with performance of Micro enterprises (MEs).Thus, it was recommended that the government should offer increased support to MFis in order to increase their capacity to extend fair credit to MEs; micro-finance institutions should adopt more dynamic savings practices to help increase MEs save money; and the government should supp01i micro-finance institutions to offer increased business development services to Micro enterprises (MEs).
