Mobile Phones Children - Risks and Perceptions

The global mobile industry continues to experience phenomenal growth, with mobile subscribers inching closer to 7 billion at the end of 2014 according to ITU (International Telecommunications Union), and its penetration varying across geographical spread (ITU, 2015). This literally translates to more than 90% of the world‟s population now with a mobile subscription, an increase of 30 percent within 5 years. It is estimated that an additional one billion subscribers will be added by 2020, thereby taking the global penetration rate above 100% (GSMA, 2015). The chart below indicates the spread of mobile subscription globally.
