Organization Factors And Performance Of Sme’s In Tanzania: A Case Of Sunflowers Industries

ABSTRACT

This study was conducted in Dodoma City Council to assess organization factors and

performance of SME‟s taking Small and medium scale Sunflower industries as a case. The

research objectives were to (i) determine the relationship between leadership style and

performance of sunflower oil producing industries, (ii) determine the influence of

organization structure on performance of sunflower oil producing industries and (ii)

determine the relationship between human resource and performance of sunflower oil

producing industries.

Concerning the methodology, a total of 44 employees and managers were selected

using simple random sampling and purposive sampling. Data for the study were

collected through interviews, observation and documentary review. The collected data

were coded and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics IBM-Statistical

Product for service solution (SPSS) Version 20 were used as software for data analysis.

The findings from the study reveal that leadership style and organization structure are

positively significant effect on performance of small and medium scale sunflower oil

industries (p< 0.05). Where by human resources factors were not significantly

influence performance of Small and medium scale Sunflower industries (p> 0.05). This

attributed to the fact that recruitment and selection as well as training and

development not practiced in their industries.

It is thus recommended that, leadership style and organization structure should be

improved to enhance extra organization performance. Also training and development,

recruitment and selection should be proper practiced in order to equip professionalism

and institutionalism in the activities of small and medium scale sunflowers industries.
