Performance Appraisal And Productivity In Abia State Polytechnic, Aba (2007-2011)

ABSTRACT

Performance appraisal has been view by human resource practitioners as an

effective tool for human resource management (HRM). Yet effective in the

other hand remains a practical challenge to managers and employees because of

cognitive, behavioural and motivational factors. This study was aimed at

looking into the performance appraisal and productivity in Abia State

Polytechnic, Aba. The study commenced with the introduction, where the

researcher discussed the background to the study and also the statement of the

problem, objectives of the study, significance, scope and limitations of the

study. It continued with the second chapter where the major focus was on

reviewing the works of other scholars who have contributed in one way or the

other to the subject of discussion, the hypotheses, research methodology and the

theoretical framework. It progressed to the third chapter that constitutes the

study area. Chapter four focused on the data presentation, analysis and findings

and that paved way for chapter five which is the summary, conclusion and

recommendations.
