Abstract
A cross sectional study was conducted for determination of camel theileriosis and investigation of associated potential risk factors in Northern State, Sudan. A total of 202 blood samples from camel were collected and examined using Direct smear and Geimsa stain method. The result indicated that camel theileriosis infection was prevalent among camel at Northern State with an overall prevalence of 3%. The following risk factors showed association with camel theileriosis in the univariate analysis under significant level of P-value ≤ 0.25: sex (P-value= 0.219), age (P-value =0.236), body condition (Pvalue= 0.000), previous history of disease of the animals (pvalue=0.000), present of ticks in the animals (p-value=0.000) . Using multivariate analysis to determine possible significant association between theileriosis and potential risk factors, the result showed that there was significant association with the investigated risk factors. In conclusion the disease should be tackled seriously and control programme can make and contribute towards prevention at Northern state.
