Study Of Physical And Chemical Characteristics For Hibiscus Sabdariffa L Using Different Techniques

Abstract

Two types of hibiscussabdariffa L were prepared (red and white) in the form of powder respectively and the samples were exposed to the XRF meter to identify elements and their concentrations of the samples. Also the samples

were exposed to X-ray to study the crystal structure. It was found that the material was amorphous. Also some of the samples were dissolved in cold and hot water in the form of a solution and were characterized by UV-VIS spectrometer to study the absorbance spectrum of the samples and determine

the maximum wavelength. Also some of the samples were dissolved with distilled water and exposed to EC meter to find conductivity which was found equal to 3.2 Siemens per meter (s/m) at 26.7c, 3.08 Siemens per meter (s/m) at 26.5c respectively and used the pH meter to measures the difference in electrical potential between a pH electrode and a reference electrode and acidity and it was observed to have the same acidity as 3.93.
