This paper examines the role of Social Studies curriculum implementation in actualizing school safety in Nigeria. Safety is a social phenomenon that is desirable in society but has in recent times imposed challenge in Nigeria. Safety education is a concept in Social Studies learning. Safety is an environmental issue that affects man in its totality-physically, socially and morally among others. Social Studies as an integrated discipline is able to x-ray essential elements of child’s safety in school environment, including a safe classroom where teaching and learning takes place. It is against this background Social Studies incorporate safety education in its research and instruction at all levels of education in the Nigerian school system.
