THE EFFECT OF EMPLOYEE JOB SATISFACTION ON EMPLOYEE JOB PERFORMANCE: IN CASE OF HARAMAYAA UNIVERSITY

Abstract:

The main purpose of the study was to analysis the effect of job satisfaction on employee job performance in Haramaya University. Both primary and secondary sources of data were used and the primary data was gathered through questionnaire and interviews. Stratified sampling and random sampling was employed and data was collected from 189 respondents. Descriptive statistics tools such as frequency and percentage were used to analyze the collected data. Correlation and regression analysis were used to analyze the study by using the Statistical package for Social Science SPSS. The result of econometric analysis of multiple linear regressions shows that six variables (Pay, Promotion, Supervision, Reward, Recognition, Relation with Co-workers )positively affect employee job performance and two variable(Work Condition ,The Nature of the Work) negatively affect employee job performance. Then, it is recommend that the office in this University should focus on the most influential factors that affect job performance identified by this study and take appropriate measures so as to increase employee job performance and the office should take bold steps to enhance the level of job satisfaction of their employees in this study area
