THE EFFECT OF MANAGEMENT STYLES ON WORKERS PRODUCTIVITY IN THE HOTEL INDUSTRY IN ENUGU STATE (A CASE STUDY OF HOTEL PRESIDENTIAL)

ABSTRACT

This research work examined the effects of management style on workers productivity in the hotel Industry with special reference to hotel Presidential. In many establishments, especially the government ones. It has been found that situation which are inimical to the achievement of organization goals to usually exist. These situations exist because of the management styles being practiced by these establishment.
Observations have shown that while those at the helm of affairs in some of these establishments adopts the kid of level of the employees, some other adopt the type it management style that encourages inefficiency and among workers. A close look at some organization shows that their management style is characterized by favoritism autocracy inability
To delegates over centralization of authority and over communication with subordinates and all those have negative effects on the entire organization.
To carry out the study, both primary and secondary data where used. Questionnairs were administered to elicit information on the subject matter.  Data collections were analyzed with tables as simple percentage.
It is test approach was the statistical tools used for feasting the hyperthesis formulated.
Finally some recommendations were made by the research among which is that of concept of delegating jobs/authority should be appreciated by those at the helm of affairs in the organisations and efficiency in a viable business organization.
