Abstract: The advancement in global economic and socio-political trend in the contemporary era of globalization increased the need for coalition of like-minded states in the international system. Bilateral and multilateral relations, therefore, become an unavoidable measure to ensure international development. Group of Seven (G7) as a bloc of highly industrialized countries of the world stands to coordinate international economic and socio-political arrangement. Despite criticisms labeled against it as being incomprehensive, restrictive and strictness in actions, efforts of the forum towards ensuring general international development are unabated. This is evident following its enormous efforts to enhance international development in different spheres of human endeavors. Submissively, the forum instead of being thrown into the trash should be allowed to play supportive roles in other to promote international development. Hence, Group of Twenty (G20) and other related economic forums that are more accommodative to membership should brace up efforts to improve international development.
