The Impact Of Dance On Church Attendance By The Youths In Yatta division, Yatta district ,kenya

ABSTRACT

This study was about "The influence of dance to church attendance of the youths in Y atta division, ofYatta district. Sixty youths and 60 elders were used in the study and we are selected from various Christian denominations, The study was administered by the help of selected qelegates given questionnaires to distribute to 20 youths and 20 elders at the same time under the supervision of the researcher. Enteiiainment, encouragement, identification and conquer of the heart of the populace and churches are given as the reason why dance is important and should be promoted. The other school of thought discussed the extent to which chur~h worship music has been promoted. Due to the low level of promotion and development give the need for the pronunciation. Use of complicated, especially foreign structure instead of simple integrated ones, lack of facilities, trained personnel to handle the choirs, music vote in the church budget, critics and ill feelings about dance were cited as indicators for the negative promotion. Suggestions and recommendations were given, e.g. the need to revive the glory of church worship which involves the information of properly manned and facilitated choirs, music of simple integrated structure to be embraced to cater for a sense of belonging for every worshipper. It was also suggested that church leaders should avail the choir with the required materials and the worshipers who have the ability to donate generously to the music groups.
