The Impact of Motivation on Employee Performance in Organizations, A Case Study of Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company Ltd, Enugu (2000-2008).

ABSTRACT 

This study is an attempt to investigate the impact of motivation on employee performance, using Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company Ltd, Enugu (Mercedes Benz Anammco) as a case study. This is with a view to ascertaining whether the motivation strategies and techniques used by ANAMMCO management has any impact on their employees performance. The researcher commenced this study by carrying out a critical exposition on the background of the study which constitutes the origin of motivation concepts and theories and some definitions of motivation as a concept. The second chapter comprehensively reviewed the works of other contemporary scholars that have contributed to the bank of knowledge as it relates to the concept of motivation. Chapter three comprehensively dealt with the background information of Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company Ltd, Enugu. Data presentation and analysis was the main focus of chapter four, where the researcher presented and analyzed the data collected from the questionnaire. This section also embodied the presentation and analysis of the hypotheses using the chi-square statistical method and also discussed the findings and its implications. The last chapter which is chapter five was the concluding chapter of the study and dealt with the summary, conclusion and recommendation.
