The Influence of Parenting Styles on Socialisation of Children in Early Childhood Education A Case Study of Zimmerman Division, Nairobi District, Kasarani County

ABSTRACT 

The study investigated the effects of parenting styles on socialization of children in early childhood education. The study was guided by specific objectives that included; to identify the parenting styles, to establish the theories and types of socialization and to establish the effects of parenting styles on socialization. The study was descriptive and analytical in nature where stratified sampling was used to select population. It employed 60 respondents. Data were analyzed and presented using frequencies and percentages and were tabulated. The major findings of the study were; most of the respondents were males, effects included well being, high parental demand, developmental change, good academic performance.
