ABSTRACT

This study addresses the issue of strategic planning in organization, with special focus on how strategic planning affects productivity level. Productivity is of great concern to all organization. Modern manager however, now operate in a dynamic business environment. To survive in this ever dynamic environment, managers need to do a lot of planning. Thus, function of planning is the most basic of al management functions. The study was carried out in the Breweries industry. A sample of 51 respondents was randomly selected form this industry. Data was collected with the use of structured questionnaires. The hypotheses for the study were tested with the use of chi-square statistical package.

In all, findings show that strategic planning and productivity index are positively related with all the variables examined. This findings paved way for the recommendation made in the concluding chapter of the study.
