THE USE OF MODERN EQUIPMENTS IN THE TRAINING OF SECRETARIAL STAFF (A CASE STUDY OF FEDERAL MINISTRY OF HEALTH, ENUGU.

ABSTRACT
The technological change in the country and all over the world has made it necessary for the secretarial staff to acquire the knowledge of various modern equipment and the techniques of manipulating them.

As regard to this, the secretarial staff are faced with a number of problems ranging from:
1.Lack of awareness of modern equipments being used in the office.
2.Inadequate modern equipments in the office
3.The problem of who to impact this technological knowledge to the secretarial staff.

Knowing the importance of the secretarial staff to an organization it will be very profitable if they are given source training on these modern equipments to enable them face the recent technological changes in information technology.
Therefore this project titled the use of modern equipments in the training of secretarial staff examines the budget allocation for the and the selection of trainers at the Federal Ministry of Health in Federal Secretarial Enugu.

Using the four points likert type questionnaire the opinion of the junior and senior secretarial staff of the ministry about the topic of this study were sampled and analysed

The following findings were made
1.The federal ministry of finance budget allocation to the ministry of Health is inadequate for training the secretarial 
2.The are inadequate modern equipments in the ministry
3.The selection of secretarial trainers affected their training.
4.The instructors and trainers in the staff development department of the ministry were not training the staff.

Following the findings conclusions and recommendations were made that 
1.The financial allocation should be increased by the ministry of finance for the purchase of more equipments that will be used for training the secretaries.
2.Selection of trainers should be made and the staff development trainers mobilized for immediate training of secretarial staff.
