ABSTRACT

The study aimed at investigating the effects of Unplanned population influx on food security in Kigorobya Sub-county. The objectives of the study were; to determine the effects of immigration on food security in Kigorobya Sub-county, to establish the effects of birth rate on food security in Kigorobya Sub-county and to access the effects of poverty on food security in Kigorobya Subcounty.

The study applied a casual research design to reflect aspects of perception, feelings, experiences, facts and emotional feelings of the study respondents on the study topic. Casual research design was used to study the effects that one variable has on another. The research was designed to determine how dependent variables were influenced by changes in the independent variables. Both quantitative and qualitative approaches were used in data collection and analysis and general information on the subject matter was collected from the different stakeholders who were involved in the study. On the other hand, the quantitative design involved the use of close-ended questionnaires which was issued to the top management of International originations as the method

is convenient for them to fill during their free time. The results showed the majority of the respondents who agreed that, the absolute number of undernourished people in the world has been on an upward trend since the mid-nineties biodiversity through sustainable agricultural practices may also alleviate food security. This is revealed with a mean of 3.70. However, a standard deviation of 1.147 from the same test revealed varied responses. It is concluded that, Unplanned

demonstrate that Kigorobya Sub-county immigrants are experiencing high levels of food insecurity

as compared to new-born populations. The study recommended the Prospects for food security to

improve the targeted policies that seek to increase livelihoods and mitigate the causes and consequences of unplanned rapid population growth. Such policies could include the provision of enhanced poverty safety nets in rural areas that were both improve livelihoods and in the long run contribute towards fertility reduction.
