A HYBRID HISTOGRAM IN-MOTION MAPPING MODEL FOR AUTONOMOUS MOBILE ROBOT NAVIGATION AND OBSTACLE AVOIDANCE

In this paper, the simplicity of the convectional Histogram in-motion mapping for obstacle avoidance technique which is now modified and modeled to Hybrid histogram in-motion mapping (HHIM) for autonomous mobile robot navigation and obstacle avoidance was primarily developed by AKWARA UCHENNA C. to solve robot navigation problems for completely unknown environment particularly for a static wave concave shaped obstacle. The developed model is to address the problem associated with a static wave concave shaped obstacle using (HHIM) model which click  to solve a Local minima trap problem and the single scan sensor readings on obstacle posed by earlier method. Nevertheless, The (HHIM) model uses Histogram grid mapping scanning, Obstacle Avoidance and Local virtual target(LVT) technique for Local minima recovery and robot navigation and the obtained results was simulated on Pentium IV system, window XP, 4 GB Ram, 120GB hard disk and a mobotsim software. The applied model gives proper histogram data control and graph display, proper scan sensitivity, proper time frame, proper navigation and Local minima recovery.
