Worldwide some 622 animal species face extinction mostly because of illegal trade. According to 2002 study by WCS illegal international trade of endangered species amounts to an estimated 8 billion per year. To poachers alive mountain gorillas are worth $ 150,000, a Panda Pelt $100,000, a Chimpanzee $ 50,000, rhino horns $ 28, 600 per Kg. In 1950 there was an estimate of 100,000 tigers in the world. Despite international protection today only 5,000-6500 tigers are left because of poaching for their firs and bones.
