ABSTRACT
This study investigates the avvareness, knowledge, attitude and perception of [-consuming (on line shopping) among Fuoye staff. It ascertains the awareness of E-consuming among Fuoye's staff; it evaluates Fuoye's staff knowledge about E-consurning. Also investigate the attitude of
Fuoye staff towards E-consuming, it also explores the perception of Fuoye staff towards Econsurning and finally it identifies those challenges in the use of E-consuming among Fuoye staff. For the purpose of this study, both primary and secondary sources of data collection were used in
which 210 questionnaire were administered to both teaching and Non-teaching staff of Federal University Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State. Purposive sampling techniques Vere adopted so as to aid easy
accessibility. The statistical package for social science (SPSS) were used !or the data analysis and the results showed that majority of the respondents 83(40.5%) age ranges between 25 - 34
years, 52.2% were female, 36.1 % had B.Sc. I-IND or B.Ed, 31.7% were junior Administrative
staff, 68.7% were permanent staff, and 157 ol' the total respondents were Christians. 1-lso,
l1ndings revealed on respondents awareness of e-consurning, 130(63.4%) of the respondents
strongly agree that they are mvare of c-consuming among FUOYE staff~ 63(30.7%) agree that
they kmw,1 that e-consuming products are cheaper while 42.0% agree that I am m,vare that econsum
ing makes on Ii ne transactions faster.
Conclusively, the study discovered that e-consuming is not new or strange to the respondents.
That is, they are well aware of on line shopping from different places and at different levels. In
fact, the staff of Federal University Oye-Ekiti afl,rmed that e-consuming is not strange to them
and that they also participate in e-consuming otherwise known as online shopping. The people
affirmed a positive attitude to c-consuming simply because the people have a very good knovvledge of online shopping. The perception of c-consuming by the people showed a very good resu It.
