Effect of Occupational Safety and Health Programmes On Employee Productivity: A Case Study of Roko Construction Company Limited

ABSTRACT This study was carried out to investigate the relationship between OSH programmes and employee productivity. It was mainly based on three objectives; to examme OSH programmes used in business organizations, to establish other factors that affect employee productivity besides OSH programmes, and to establish the effect of OSH programs on employee productivity. This study was majorly relied on secondary data. The collected data was analyzed by use of document analysis and extensive reviewing of existing literature, and thus drawing inferences for purposes of comparing and contrasting findings. Time constraints, financial constraints were the major challenges the researcher faced. From the findings, the researcher discovered that there exists a positive relationship between OSH programmes and employee productivity. Finally, the researcher recommended that organizations should institute various OSH interventions such as provision of protective gear. These will help create a healthy and safe entity, hence a healthy and productive workforce.
