ABSTRACT
The study was conducted upon the challenges of deforestation on sustainable Development in
Kabwoya sub-county Hoima District. The Background, Statement of the problem was stated that
despite of all efforts made towards environmental conservation by the government to enable
sustainable development, activities of lumbering, charcoal burning, logging among others still
exist as evidenced from NFA report 2007/ 2008, and NEMA. The objectives of the study were

and soil erosion, the solution was participation which should involve to all people.
Case study of Kabwoya Sub County, the sample size was 120 respondents, the sampling
technique was random sampling, Study instrument, sources of data was primary and secondary

summarized the socio demographic characteristics of respondents The findings based on the
objectives systematically.
