The Impact Of Motivation On Employee Perfomance In The Ministry Of Education, Science And Technologyjuba In Southern Sudan

ABSTRACT

The study investigated the impact of motivation on the performance of employees in the

Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) in Juba, Southern Sudan

The study was designed as a case study of Ministry of Education, Science and Technology

(MoEST) in Juba, Southern Sudan and a total of 30 respondents participated in the study. The

respondents included; executive managers, human resource managers, line managers, and

lower level employees.

The analysis included both qualitative and quantitative methods. It looked at the situation in

MoEST and discussed major findings on the impact of motivation on employee performance,

motivation strategies among others

The findings revealed the impact of motivation as increased level of employee commitment, improved communication, and reduced rates of accidents among others. The findings further indicated that the major factors affecting employee performance were; delayed payments, poor communication, inadequate working facilities among others.

The following recommendations were made; creation of a free and open communication environment though the use of suggestion boxes, open upward and downward communication, holding of meetings, prompt payment of staff, and adequate staff facilitation among others.
