ABSTRACT The research is all about Training and Employee Performance a case study of Uganda Police Force. The objectives that guided the study included; examining the effects of training on employee performance, identify the various techniques of training used and establish the forms of training used in the Uganda Police Force. The study was both descriptive and analytical in nature where it was based on primary and secondary data to establish the effects of training on the employee performance of the organization. Qualitative data designs included; interviews and observation. Quantitative data was gathered tluough the use of questionnaires. A total of 60 respondents were used for this study that included officers from different ranks and departments of the Uganda Police Force. The researcher came up with the following findings there is need to train employee to improve individual performance, quality services and to get continuous knowledge and skills in order to be competent. In addition planned work activities is the most used technique and the form of training used is the refresher training. The researcher came to the following conclusions that Police officers lack the skills, competence and knowledge to provide quality services to the citizens of the country. To overcome the risks, the government should provide financial support to train the employees. The management should avail the employees with the necessary techniques to ease the process and treat the employees fairly and equally. The following were reconunendations that the researcher can1e up with; the govenll"Ilent and management should put emphasis to empower, motivate, train and improve the sanitation and accommodation of the police officers. Further more treat them fairly and equally and the citizens of the country should respect and work in hand with the force.
